Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by
The Broke and The Bookish
Featuring a different topic every week, I thought this would be a fun meme to participate in!
This weeks Topic is:
Top Ten Most Vivid Worlds/Settings In Books
Is it possible to do a TTT without including Harry Potter?? I am
starting to think not but it would really be a crime to leave this off. The world created is so vivid that they have actually well. . . CREATED it! It has it's own theme park and 8 movies. That is a pretty solid, vivid world!
The Aftertime Series by Sophie Littlefield ~ Specifically, the way that the zombies were created and the backstory to where the world is now is GENIUS! It is my FAVORITE zombie origin story ever.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins ~ Even though The Capitol is evil, I kinda want to visit there just for a little while!
The Stand by Stephen King ~ His post apocalyptic world was vivid to me. Vivid and Scary!
The Hollows Series by Kim Harrison ~ I want to visit but I'm not sure I'd want to live there.
Divergent by Veronica Roth ~ Thinking about having to choose between my family and my faction makes me feel sad! I believe it could happen!
The Summer Series by Jenny Han ~ I can completely see that summer house and I want to go there!
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa ~ Another scary landscape. Julie is so great about getting a good visual in your head without giving you pages of exposition!
Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard ~ This is almost like cheating because the setting of this book is real. For me it was vivid and memorable because of the way it was described.
South of Broad by Pat Conroy ~ Cheating again here because this story is set in Charleston SC. You can tell that the author really knows and loves the place because I think you would have a vivid view of the world just by reading the book even if you have never seen it in real life.

Yeah. I totally forgot about HP on my list. So ashamed! Great list!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what is wrong with me, but I forgot to add Harry Potter to my list! But at least I have Hunger Games. Here's my Top Ten Tuesday Post!
