Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by
The Broke and The Bookish
Featuring a different topic every week, I thought this would be a fun meme to participate in!
This weeks Topic is:
Top Ten Books Written In The Past 10 Years That I Hope People Are Still Reading In 30 Years
Is is SAD that I can only think of 5 books?! Maybe I am just being harsh but when I really thought about the most special books I would want to still be special in 10 years, I just had a hard time choosing more than 5. I am curious to see what books y'all have chosen!
Harry Potter by JK Rowling~ Really I don't think this will be falling off the radars of readers any time soon.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern ~ This one was just released last year and it was my overall favorite book of 2011. This story just crosses so many genres for me that I think just about everyone will fins something to like about it. (except my mother in law, she was not a fan. I think I lost some of my recommendation powers for her after I talked her into reading that!)
South of Broad by Pat Conroy ~ I know that this is not some people favorite book by him but I personally loved it.
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green ~ Or really, ANYTHING by John Green. I think he is a fabulous writer and I hope that his stories live on for generations.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak ~ If you haven't read this one, I recommend it. It is sad and intense but worth it.
So now I need y’all to let me know what great books I’m missing out on from the last 10 years! Leave me a comment telling me what books I have insanely left of this list!

Great selections (Night Circus definitely tops my list, along with Harry Potter)! I can't believe I left off The Book Thief, but I have high hopes for it's longevity.
ReplyDeleteOMG! HOW could I forget The Night Circus!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI picked The Night Circus & Harry Potter as well. Those books NEED to stay on the radar!

ReplyDeleteI put South of Broad on my list as well. I have to confess that I would include every single Pat Conroy book ever written, as he is just that good. I'm so glad to find a fellow fan!
