SC Book Festival

This coming weekend, May 18-20th is the South Carolina Book Festival in Columbia SC. I am very excited that I am going this year! The event is being held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Admission is FREE!!! (They are having some master classes that may be an additional fee.) They have tons of sessions scheduled with various authors throughout the weekend. I am going to try and get into the keynote session on Saturday afternoon to hear Pat Conroy speak! I absolutely LOVE his book "South of Broad." When I think of SC, I think of Charleston (even though I live in Sumter SC!). South of Broad takes place in Charleston and I highly recommend this book if you have not read it!

I am most excited to announce that I am going to meet and interview two fabulous authors:

First is A.J. Scudiere! I read and reviewed her novel God's Eye and Loved it so much I gave it a “5” rating!  I am so excited to get to meet her in person and talk about her upcoming book Phoenix.

Phoenix

The other author is Sandra Brennan! I am currently reading the first book in her Liv Bergen series titled In the Belly of Jonah and I am LOVING IT! If you are a fan of thrillers, you are going to want to read this! I am not even finished and I already feel confident recommending it! I am so exited to get to meet her and talk about this series! The first two books are available now and the third book, Widow’s Might will be released August 7th! I can’t wait!

If you have any questions that you would like me to ask these two fabulous ladies, please leave them in the comments below!

I know that many of my readers like to stick to the Young Adult genre. (Which is good but I keep hoping to convert more of you into  genre jumpers like me!) There are only going to be a couple of Young Adult authors scheduled to attend that I am aware of:

Kiera Cass author of The Selection, Kami Kinard author of The Boy Project and Amy Carol Reeves author of Ripper

  1. Thank you, Shannon, for the kind words! I look forward to meeting you at the SC Book Festival, too! One question you may want to ask me is what I brought for you all the way from South Dakota?

    1. Oh My goodness! Now I am even MORE excited!! You have already given me something though, NIGHTMARES! I finished In the Belly of Jonah at about 11:30 PM (way past my pregnant bed time) and I had some creepy dreams afterward! Can't wait to see you Saturday!
