Synopsis:  (From Good Reads)

When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.

Except there's something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she'll turn to dust if he touches her. It's not until Dez's father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there's more to this boy - and her father's "law firm" - than she realized.

Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation - an organization devoted to collecting "special" kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons - his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. Dez and Kale team up with a group of rogue Sixes hell-bent on taking down Denazen before they're caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.

A secret Kale will kill to protect.

What Did I Think?

I was so excited to read Touch because I have heard great things about it. I am happy to say that I was not let down. The story has elements of Heroes and X-Men but it still felt like an original story. The main character, Deznee (Dez for short) is such a strong female lead and I loved that about her. She can go a bit to the stubborn side but I remember being a teenager and stubborn was one of my better moods actually.

Kale is interesting because he has a skewed view of reality based on his experiences. He was fun to read about and I liked the interaction that he has with others, especially Dez. They have an interesting journey that they take in this book and I was glad to see a relationship that takes its time and does not feel forced.

One of my favorite things was all the action.  There is not a lot of down time in this story.  Things start off pretty quickly and they really never let up. This is a great addition to the paranormal genre especially because I have not read another book like it. It had so many elements that I loved and they all fit together perfectly!

BOTTOM LINE: I loved it and I am so excited to see what happens next!

Guest Post: Jus Accardo

Instead of doing an interview, I really like to let the authors have some fun with their characters by doing a “what would they do” post. Just is going to show us how her characters would react if we put them in a random situation. I gave Jus a few choices and she chose:

They are in a store and see some one stealing.

Kale - Obviously they need to be punished. Stealing is wrong. I should stop them.

Dez - How do you plan on doing that?

Kale - I'll touch her, of course.

Dez - You'll touch her? A thirteen year old kid nicking make-up warrants a death sentence? Really?

Kale - Wrong is wrong.

Dez - And black and white make gray.

Kale - *looks confused*

Dez - *rolls her eyes* We've been over this, Kale. That's not your job.
Besides, stealing really isn't a big deal.

Kale - Of course it is. Taking something that doesn't belong to you is
something Denazen would do.

Dez - *thinks about this for a moment, then nods* Okay, point taken. But it's a degree thing.

Kale - Degree thing?

Dez - Yeah. You know, that different levels of bad thing we talked about? It's comp--

Kale - Don't say it...

Dez - *smiles and places a quick kiss on Kale's forehead* --licated.

Kale - *glares at Dez*

Dez - When we first met, you stole my kicks. Should you be punished for that?

Kale - That was different. It was a matter of survival!

Dez - *folds her arms and grins* How do you know that's not what this is?

Kale - *leans around Dez to get a closer look at the young girl by the
make-up counter* Berryburst lip gloss is necessary for survival?

Dez - *shrugs* If you're a girl, hell yes!

Kale - Puts his arm around Dez and shakes his head* I will never
understand people.

Thank you Jus! That was so much fun and that is exactly how I think that conversation would go!
